Freelance Editor

Publications International, Ltd., seeks Freelance Editors for its Internet Content Group. Our Freelance Editors prepare content from published books for deployment on the Web under the direction of Staff Editors. These are Independent Contractor positions with no benefits The work is on a project basis with a fee attached to each project. Freelance Editors are trained at the company’s office in Morton Grove, IL, and perform the work off-site. Candidates are responsible for all travel-related costs for training.

Requirements
• Minimum of two years’ experience as an Editor in a professional environment. Candidates with experience in a Web publishing environment will be given preference.
• Must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
• Must be able to analyze data from multiple sources and organize it into one content article that is parceled into multiple pages. Preference will be given to Freelance Editors who have experience in creating Meta data and keywords that optimize Web page search.
• Must have a computer and high-speed Internet access. Work is performed in a Web-based tool that requires Windows XP or Macintosh OSX.
