Telecommute Paralegal

Edwards & Associates is seeking a part time or telecommute senior paralegal for a small firm specializing in family law. This could be a great opportunity for stay-at-home parents who want to still be able to keep up their skills. We are a small firm with two attorneys, and two support staff members.

Ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in family law. Prefer experience with new child support law / child support worksheets.

The position has the potential to be full time if the candidate desires. The candidate will be able to work from home, and must have reliable internet access with broadband speed, and up-to-date Microsoft Office Programs.

The position includes many duties: contacting new potential clients, preparing letters, motions, pleadings, complaints, discovery requests / responses, filing new cases, settlement agreements, meeting with clients, helping attorneys prepare for trial, scanning documents and legal research. Potential for attending trials, depositions and mediations a possibility for the right candidate.

Edwards & Associates is a technologically advanced firm, with all files scanned and maintained electronically. Therefore, the candidate must be very proficient with all types of computer programs, scanning, Adobe documents, database software, and be able to type at 60+ wpm. Amicus Attorney database experience preferred. Family law experience is absolutely required. Experience, computer skills, personality and interest in family law more important than grades / education. Applicant should be comfortable speaking / interacting with clients and opposing counsel.

Family law is an emotionally charged area of law. Candidates should be prepared to handle highly emotional clients. Seeking candidate with a professional appearance, pleasant attitude and solid work ethic.
