As an online attorney, you offer legal advice and litigate for clients from a remote location. Since you can’t actually represent a client in the courtroom in a telecommute capacity, much of your work involves the advice side. You may offer your services to a business to help analyze a contract or help a team of lawyers that can actually attend the hearing prepare for a case. As with any other attorney job, you need to earn your J.D. from an accredited law school and pass the bar exam. If the role is more of an advisory position, you need several years of experience litigating in that specialization.

To succeed as an online attorney, you need to have excellent skills of persuasion and a firm understanding of the law. Current job offerings include Remote Associate Attorney, Telecommute Employment Litigation Attorney, and Remote Senior Engineering Patent Attorney.
