Freelance Writing Work at Home
Do you love to write? Are you always keeping a journal, writing letters or just have a passion for writing books? If so, then a freelance writing position at home would be great for you. You don’t have to start out with submission queries to magazines. Since they take a good while to respond, you want to start out simple so you can get off to a faster start.
The Internet is the best place to start. There are websites like elance, getafreelancer and craigslist that provide tons of freelance writing jobs. Make sure you write at least three samples since most clients ask for a sample or two.
You could start out by writing and submitting your writing samples to ezinarticles.com or goarticles.com. Your clients can find you there as well. You can write an article about the service you offer and why the client would need a writing service. Make sure the article is not too self-promoting.
Create a blog where you can place your articles to get more online visibility in the search engines. Take a copywriting class. There are a lot of online business owners who need a good copywriter. Creative writing is also a well-needed service. Your community college offers creative writing classes where you can sharpen your skills and become well sought after.
Set up a profile at one of the freelance writing websites mentioned above and bid on different projects that interest you. Elance does charge a monthly fee, but it is all worth it. I am not a representative of elance, but I have used their service as a writer and as a project manager. You just have to a little patient for results, but yet very aggressive and competitive with your bidding. You also must write good copy. Make sure that they are SEO rich, which means search engine optimized. There is a great demand for SEO keyword rich articles.
As soon as you begin to get orders in, create a simple website that list your service and your profile. You can post your resume if you choose to do so or if you are an accomplished writer.
Make sure you are an excellent researcher because sometimes the client will ask for topics that you know nothing about, but a little research will do the trick.
Good luck with your writing.
