Networking with other Telecommuters
Networking is essential when you have to work from home alone or if you have decided to take the step of finding work at home jobs. Join as many reputable work at home or business opportunity forums as you can and visit them daily to get tips and make comments on concerns and answers to your questions. This is a really good place to start if you want to work from home.
When you build on-going relationships with other telecommuters who think like you, you are more likely to succeed and possibly get recommendations from them on work at home job opportunities that you would not have been able to find yourself.
Start networking on “work at home moms” forum and you may be able to get telecommuting job leads. You should surround yourself with people who are trying to do the same things that you are. Networking will never disappoint you. I have found that people want to help. They will tell you what jobs are scams or not. Networking is one of the most important concepts of telecommuting.
Try to start building those relationships before you begin seeking work at home jobs. Networking will provide a host of tips, advise and leads so that you may not have to look very far. Get involved with at least three telecommuting community forums as soon as possible. Lurk around for a while to see if the forum is worth your time and to see what comments are being posted on the board.
There are work at home forum boards like WAHM.com, Virtualvocations.com, telecommutingmoms.com, mymommybizboards.com and ryze.com. You can go to yahoo.com, msn.com, and google.com and search for “work at home forums,” to find more forums. WAHM.com has been around for a while and has thousands of participants. Virtualvocations.com is growing in leaps and bounds and has valuable articles, comments, leads and advise to draw from. There are many participants who are willing to help you.
You will get out of the networking experience just what you put in so you have to participate and make yourself visible. Contribute as much as you can as well because you don’t just want to take and not give back.
