Work at home as a Medical Transcriptionist

Working from home is a convenient way for mothers who want to stay home and have a flexible lifestyle while earning an income. Commuting is something that most employees loathe and want to find a job to work out of their homes. A medical transcriptionist is an ideal job to consider as long as you are a fast typist and love to type.

You can schedule your typing when your kids are in bed, which provides a quieter environment to get more done. You can even do this work while working at your full time job since this is the most flexible work at home job that is not as demanding. The only thing you may have to think about is meeting deadlines.

Your typing should be between 35 to 60 words per minute to be considered for a medical transcription position. You also have to be computer literate and have a good command of English, spelling, grammar and error free documents.

You also need to have some knowledge of medical terms and type of document formats, which your client will inform you about. However, it is your responsibility to learn the medical terms. Most clients usually hire experienced individuals.  You can take a medical transcription course to learn more about this great opportunity. You will learn how to listen to audiotapes and type at the same time. You have to be able to pay attention to detail and keen on delivering the requested product.

Income is based on speed and accuracy of the medical transcriptionist. You can start by contacting physicans in your local area. You can search online for “medical transcription jobs.” You can look to earn as much as $2000 to $5000 per month if you know exactly what you are doing. Therefore, getting good training in the beginning would be the best thing if you don’t have any experience.

Many physicians are in need of medical transcriptionist to work out of their homes and you could be the one that they are looking for if you would consider acquiring those skills and experience.
