The Virtual Assistant
If you have experience in Office Management, Secretary or Legal Secretary, then maybe a Virtual Assistant is the job for you. Virtual Assistants are an invaluable part of more and more businesses today, than ever before. One can become a Virtual Assistant with a minimum of equipment. You need a computer and fax as well as calculator. Experience is usually required, but in some cases, if you believe you can do the job, they may come to believe it also. It is worth a try. Some other Virtual Assistant jobs might include Executive Secretary, Paralegal, Real Estate assistant, Office Manager. The Virtual Assistant is usually an independent contractor, not an employee of the company. You can set your own rates, create your own standards, policies, and manage the work. You are responsible for paying your own taxes. You might even contract out some of your work, or get help if you become too busy. The only limitations are those you set on yourself. The Virtual Assistant does the same work as those counterparts that work in the office. Paralegals and Real Estate Assistants for example, may have the task of filling out legal forms. Answering phones and typing correspondence are usual tasks. One working at home can focus on the task, and businesses are beginning to realize this. The same quality and attention to detail as in an office, is expected, and surpassed. As you may already know, attention to detail is so much easier to do at home than in a noisy office. You may also answer phones and take messages or make appointments too. This is one reason I believe the Virtual Assistants jobs are growing in demand. You have time for attention to detail, you produce quality work, and you do it at your own pace. Sounds like a Win, Win situation for all concerned. Then there are the benefits of working from home. At home, you have comfort; can care for and supervise the children or the household. By reducing expenses for gas, clothing or lunches and you get a paycheck. It may be a good thing for you to look into. Ask yourself, "Is this job for me?" If the answer is yes, then become a Virtual Assistant. You will be glad you did.
