Market Your Home Based Business

They say talent counts for nothing if you do not market it. It is quite true; you should know to market yourself as a work from home professional. A freelancer who works from home is someone who works on a contractual basis. A freelancer is known to be an expert in his or her field. It is important to display your expertise and show that you are the person who can deliver the goods.

Go to quality freelance sites like elance, guru, getafreelancer, allfreelance, rentacoder. and register yourself. Spend an hour or so bidding for plum projects that are in line with your expertise. Bidding means offering a price to the employer for doing the project. While bidding, state to them in a professional language as to why you can be the best for the project. Show them what sets you apart from the competition. Send some samples of work or a link to your blog or website in order to help the client get more confidence in you. Send a free sample for him to get an idea of your worth.

Be proactive in your work and show that you are interested in doing work with him. It is not necessary to price your services low just to get projects. It does not really work. If you price low, rather than competitive, clients may think your work could be shoddy.

Be always available with the client through a messenger ID. Show transparency in the job. Do not fib. If you cannot do the job, say upfront. If you want extra time, let the client know. They usually keep a buffer time and appreciate it if you are honest and forthright. You may bid a lot and keep yourself active in the freelance arena, but do not take more work that you can handle. Otherwise, outsource or delegate work to people whom you think can be trustworthy and produce quality work. It always helps to have a website or blog that has some of your best work. It works as a good advertising model that reflects on your talents and capabilities. Market your services and you will get a good market for your services.
