A Few of The Most Common WAH Jobs

Over the last three months, I have searched the Internet for employment. Not just, work at home (WAH) jobs, but any type of work. Over time, I began to realize there are a great number of WAH opportunities. Next, I realized that there were certain jobs that really saturated the market. It was at that time that I wished I were a jack-of-all-trades. Instead, I share these jobs with you in hopes that you fit one of these job descriptions and begin to look for that perfect WAH opportunity.

Graphic Artists – A graphic artist performs a variety of tasks relating to the design and layout of graphic materials for print and/or electronic formats. A successful WAH graphic artist must be able to understand written instructions and have a proficiency in graphic software and language, such as Flash, Action Scripting, and PhotoShop.

Medical Transcriptions – A medical transcriptions uses a transcribing machine with a headset and foot pedal to listen to recordings provided by healthcare professionals. The most common transcription includes medical reports, medical studies, chart reviews, and medical summaries. Successful WAH medical transcriptions must be able to translate the medical terminology and acronyms quickly as well as summarize large amounts of content into one understandable document. One must be able to type 40-60 wpm accurately.

Web Designer – A web designer creates a web site that keeps the attention of the patrons. A web designer must compete with the booming technology of the Internet while meeting the vision of the client. Skills needed by a web designer include a firm grasp of HTML (hypertext markup language, “the” language of the Internet) as well as knowledge of programming languages, such as JavaScript, ASP, and Visual Basic. A successful WAH web designer must follow directions precisely and provide the client with an outstanding product.
