What ARE You Doing?
You may sometimes ask yourself this question while you are seeking legitimate, decent paying work at home (WAH) jobs … However, here are some additional questions to ponder:
What specific jobs are you looking to do at home?
What experience and skills have you acquired that can be adapted for WAH jobs?
Do you have a supportive spouse or significant other and/or family who all agree with your decision to ‘come home’ to work?
Do you possess the confidence, capability, and discipline to work at home?
What type of schedule are you able/willing to work?
Are you comfortable with the lack of face-to-face social interaction?
Do you have – or are you willing to obtain – the necessary office or studio set-up you will likely need, based on the type of WAH job you are planning to do?
Would you consider "re-inventing" yourself in order to explore different options for WAH jobs?
Are you willing to go back to school for additional courses or even a degree which may improve your chances for better WAH jobs?
Are you comfortable working as a freelancer and/or independent contractor, with the related methods of tax accountability (i.e., 1099, W9)?
Are you open to various payment methods, such as PayPal, paper checks, or direct deposit, as well as payment frequency – weekly, bi-weekly, monthly?
Do you have any doubts that you can do it – work at home successfully – or are you ready to get started, if you haven’t already?
If you have been able to answer all those questions – including putting your answers in writing – and have responded in the affirmative to the second part of the final question … then you are ready to explore the reasons behind WHY you want to work at home!
