We polled professionals on their job search practices and pain points, as well as what could improve their experiences in searching for employment in the new year. During January 2023, hundreds of workers responded to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.virtualvocations.com\/jobs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Virtual Vocations<\/a> &#8220;Make Your Job Search a Dream&#8221; survey. Our dream job search survey results paint a picture of burned out workers who are tired of getting ghosted by potential employers. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-background is-style-default\" style=\"background-color:#b34101;color:#b34101\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-virtual-vocations-dream-job-search-survey\"><strong>The Virtual Vocations Dream Job Search Survey<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Open from January 1\u201410, 2023, the Virtual Vocations &#8220;Make Your Job Search a Dream&#8221; survey gave workers the opportunity to share their opinions on looking for employment in the new year. Our voluntary survey was open to Virtual Vocations members as well as the general public. Within the survey window, <strong>798 professionals completed the dream job search survey<\/strong>. Respondents were a mix of employed and unemployed professionals and remote and non-remote workers. --ub-list-item-fa-li-top: 3px; \" class=\"wp-block-ub-styled-list ub_styled_list_sublist\" id=\"ub_styled_list-abccb4e0-6ed2-4a43-8435-a26b36af2d4e\"><ul class=\"fa-ul\"><li>The majority of workers (<strong>87.47%<\/strong>) are actively <a href=\"https:\/\/www.virtualvocations.com\/blog\/telecommuting-job-search-help\/9-glaring-signs-its-time-to-look-for-a-new-job\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">searching for a new job<\/a> in 2023.<\/li><li>More than half (<strong>54.14%<\/strong>) use general online job boards and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.virtualvocations.com\/blog\/telecommuting-job-search-help\/how-to-leverage-linkedin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">social networking sites<\/a> to find job openings. <\/li><li>The most in-demand job postings are for 100% virtual jobs and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.virtualvocations.com\/blog\/annual-statistical-remote-work-reports\/work-from-anywhere-jobs-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">work-from-anywhere jobs<\/a>; more than three-quarters (<strong>75.56%<\/strong>) of professionals want fully remote careers.<\/li><li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.virtualvocations.com\/blog\/telecommuting-job-search-help\/employers-responding-applications-12-reasons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Never hearing back<\/a> from an employer or hiring manager<\/strong> is the number one job search frustration reported by professionals.<\/li><li>Workers also wish certain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.virtualvocations.com\/blog\/telecommuting-job-search-help\/using-virtual-vocations\/job-search-filters-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">aspects of job postings<\/a> were presented more clearly, including <strong>compensation amounts<\/strong>, <strong>level of flexibility<\/strong> available with jobs, and <strong>true and accurate descriptions<\/strong> of positions.<\/li><li><span style=\"text-indent: -1.4em\">Although <\/span><strong>17.17%<\/strong> of workers spend <a href=\"https:\/\/www.virtualvocations.com\/blog\/guest-posts\/how-manage-side-hustle-while-working-full-time\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">upwards of an hour applying<\/a> to a single job posting, more than a third (<strong>37.47%<\/strong>) report that, more often than not, they are ghosted by potential employers.<\/li><li>The COVID-19 pandemic, &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.virtualvocations.com\/blog\/remote-jobs\/the-great-resignation-which-employers-are-hiring-remotely\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Great Resignation<\/a>&#8216;, and employer claims of hiring shortages, however, did not positively affect the frequency and urgency of employer responses to applications, with <strong>80.45%<\/strong> of workers reporting no change in responsiveness since March 2020.<\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-virtual-vocations-dream-job-search-survey-results\"><strong>The Virtual Vocations Dream Job Search Survey Results<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Complete questions and answers for the 2023 &#8220;Make Your Job Search a Dream&#8221;
