Animation Writer

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Animation Writer will generate original ideas for characters and episodes, create outlines and scripts, and collaborate with various departments to refine content for animated productions.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and pitch original ideas for characters, episodes, and season arcs to Executive Producers and Creative Executives
• Write multi-page outlines and scripts, incorporating feedback from various departments and addressing legal and S&P notes as needed
• Collaborate with Directors, Designers, and Board Artists throughout the production process, providing notes and ideas for story and comedy punch-ups

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years of writing experience or training on a similar show, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong understanding of character and story structure, including comedic timing and various storytelling tropes
• Proficiency in Final Draft software
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Awareness of current media trends in animation and live action for various age demographics
