Certified Coder II - E/M
Job Summary
To support a remote coding team, the full-time Certified Coder II - E/M will abstract data from medical records into Epic and 3M 360, identify and code diagnoses and procedures according to ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 guidelines, and ensure compliance with coding procedures mandated by government and payers.
Key responsibilities
- Abstract data from medical records to create detailed case summaries
- Identify and code diagnoses and procedures, including primary and secondary diagnoses
- Ensure compliance with government and payer coding procedures for various medical records
Required qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 1 year of outpatient multidisciplinary coding or Provider E&M Level of Service Coding experience required
- At least one coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA is required
- Experience with ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines
- Familiarity with coding for Surgical Records and Evaluation & Management Encounters preferred
