Certified Medical Coder

Job Summary

To ensure accurate coding and maximize reimbursement, the remote Certified Medical Coder will perform concurrent reviews of FFS coding rules within Epic, focusing on assigning appropriate CPT and E/M codes while managing multiple work demands.

Key responsibilities:

• Assign appropriate medical codes based on a thorough understanding of relevant coding subject areas and clinical documentation
• Generate queries for unclear or incomplete clinical documentation and follow up with providers as needed
• Resolve coding edits or denials and provide information for medical coding quality audits

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA (e.g., CPC, RHIT)
• 2+ years of Pro-Fee coding experience
• 1+ years of family practice experience
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, Modifiers & HCPCS coding guidelines
