Coder - Orthopedics and Podiatry

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coder for Provider Practice in Orthopedics and Podiatry.

Key Responsibilities

• Review medical documentation and assign appropriate diagnostic and procedure codes
• Support coding workflows related to Medicare and Commercial Carrier, including denial review and appeals management
• Provide accurate ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and CPT coding in compliance with standards and guidelines

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Associate degree in Health Information Technology or Certification in Coding required
• Knowledge of diagnostic and procedural terminology, ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding schemes preferred
• Certification such as RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CPC-A, CCS, CCS-P, CCS-H, or COC required
• If not certified at hire, must obtain certification within one year of hire
