Coding Integrity Specialist
Job Summary
A company is looking for a Coding Integrity Specialist to perform independent reviews of medical records for coding accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit inpatient and outpatient medical record documentation for coding accuracy and completeness
- Review denials and disputes from third-party payers and respond to them appropriately
- Collaborate with coding and clinical documentation teams to provide education and resolve discrepancies
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
- Two-year degree in Health Information Management required
- Five or more years of combined experience in coding and auditing
- RHIT or RHIA credential required
- Working knowledge of ICD10 CM/PCS and CPT coding classification
- Certification with AAPC or AHIMA preferred (RHIT, RHIA, CCS, etc.)
