Data Engineer

Job Summary

To support an exciting DHS software development program, the full-time Data Engineer will conduct data analytics, design data management systems, and optimize data pipelines while collaborating with various stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct data analytics and statistical analysis to transform data into narrative products for decision-making
• Design and build data management systems, optimizing architectures and collaborating with data users
• Select and configure backend database technologies, optimizing data pipelines for structured and unstructured data

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 6-8 years of relevant experience in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related field
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and database design principles
• Proficiency in relational databases, SQL, and API-based data querying
• Experience with major data science languages such as R and Python
• Ability to manage and merge disparate data sources using R, Python, or SQL
