Data Scientist, Payments Risk

Job Summary

To support a growing risk and fraud team, the remote Data Scientist, Payments Risk will analyze ACH transaction data, evaluate risk decisioning performance, and identify emerging trends to optimize payment program strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze end-to-end ACH payment decisioning performance, including ML risk scores and risk rules
• Detect and analyze emerging trends in customer behavior, payment outcomes, and risk signals
• Develop repeatable analytical workflows and lightweight tooling in Python to enhance insight generation

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in payments risk, fraud analytics, or decisioning performance analysis within fintech or e-commerce
• Strong SQL skills and experience with large transactional datasets
• Proficient in Python for data analysis and analytical automation
• Experience managing data related to risk-based decision systems
• Ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable recommendations
