Data Scientist with NLP Expertise

Job Summary

To support long-term federal client engagements, the temporary-to-full-time remote Data Scientist with NLP Expertise will apply statistical programming, modeling, and visualization techniques to analyze public sector challenges and may transition to a permanent role based on performance and business needs.

Key responsibilities:

• Pre-process and prepare data sets for computational models using Python, including techniques like stop word removal and tokenization
• Conduct feature engineering and attribute evaluation utilizing NLP methods such as TF-IDF and word2vec to identify key determinants for modeling
• Select and validate classification modeling techniques, including machine learning and deep learning, to address specific business problems

Required qualifications:

• Master's degree required; PhD preferred in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
• Four years of experience developing scalable NLP solutions using tools like sci-kit learn, Keras, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
• Proficiency in using SAS, R, or Python for NLP use cases such as Document Summarization and Sentiment Analysis
• Experience with open source NLP packages such as Gensim, SpaCy, or NLTK, and transformer models like BERT or GPT
• Must be a US citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Public trust security clearance
