Job Summary

Experienced FHA DE Underwriters will find a fully remote opportunity as a Delaware Licensed Senior Mortgage Underwriter, where they will manage a diverse pipeline of FHA and conventional loans, serve as a strategic resource for complex underwriting decisions, and elevate efficiency through collaboration with loan officers and processors.

Key responsibilities

• Own and underwrite a diverse pipeline of FHA and conventional loans from submission to clear-to-close
• Act as the strategic underwriting expert for loan officers and processors on complex deals while maintaining quality standards
• Utilize Encompass LOS and collaborate with teams to ensure accurate credit decisions and efficient workflows

Required qualifications

• Active FHA DE certification with a valid CHUMS ID
• 3-5 years of continuous, frontline retail residential mortgage underwriting experience
• Proficiency with DU and LPA automated underwriting systems and hands-on experience with Encompass LOS
• Deep knowledge of FHA and conventional conforming guidelines; familiarity with VA, USDA, or bond/grant programs is a plus
• Self-directed work style with strong interpersonal skills for clear communication of complex credit decisions
