Head of Security

Job Summary

As the first Head of Security in a full-time remote position, the successful candidate will own the entire security posture of the organization, partnering with the engineering team to enhance production infrastructure and code security while driving cultural shifts in security practices across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Own and enhance the security posture, collaborating closely with the engineering team on infrastructure and code security
• Identify and prioritize security gaps, implementing solutions to address the most critical vulnerabilities
• Lead incident response efforts to ensure breaches are contained and managed effectively, while fostering a security-first culture within the organization

Required qualifications

• Hands-on security experience in a scaling company, ideally as an early security hire
• Deep expertise in at least one core security domain, such as product security or security operations
• Strong engineering mindset with the ability to understand and engage with codebases and infrastructure
• Proven ability to communicate effectively and drive change within teams
• Experience in building or co-building a small security team is a plus
