Healthcare Claims Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Healthcare Claims Specialist who secures payment of delinquent or high dollar insurance liabilities for patient accounts.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to inbound calls regarding account status from patients, insurance carriers, or member hospitals/health systems
• Identify and contact insurance carriers or third parties to determine reasons for delinquent payments and establish repayment arrangements
• Record collection efforts and manage account transfers as necessary

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• At least 2-3 years of experience in collections or medical insurance functions
• Familiarity with third party billing requirements such as Medicare and Blue Cross
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• High level of integrity and dependability with a results-oriented mindset
