Healthcare Statistical Data Scientist

Job Summary

Supporting the development of analytical models to identify payment anomalies in client healthcare claims data, the full-time Healthcare Statistical Data Scientist will work remotely, applying machine learning techniques and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product lines.

Key responsibilities

• Support the research and development of analytical models for new and ongoing product lines under the guidance of senior data scientists
• Apply machine learning techniques, including gradient boosting and NLP, to assist in developing and training models for claims cost prediction and fraud detection
• Analyze and interpret medical, pharmacy, and dental claims data, contributing to ongoing monitoring and actionable recommendations

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in healthcare analytics or a related analytical role; equivalent academic project experience considered
• Foundational exposure to statistical, analytical, or data mining techniques with the ability to apply them in a business context
• Proficiency in Python and SQL programming required
• Basic understanding of healthcare claims and a willingness to deepen knowledge on the job
• Familiarity with healthcare data and common analytics terminology preferred
