Job Summary
A premier nationwide provider of real property title data, search examination and curative-ready solutions has eight openings for a Home Based Entry Level Title Searcher in Central Region.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Searching titles ranging in complexity, to determine status of title or establish chain of title
- Abstracting and examining deeds, deeds of trust/mortgages, easements, judgments, liens, tax assessments, and other applicable instruments
- Verifying vesting and encumbrances to title
Qualifications Include:
- High school diploma or GED
- Two to three years prior search experience in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin
- Computer skills including Internet Explorer, Microsoft Operating Systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of legal documents affecting title to real property and methods by which they are recorded, liens, encumbrances and circumstances that affect title to real property
- Knowledge of local filing requirements, recording fees, and abstracting procedures, as well as knowledge of surveys and mapping metes and bounds
- Proficient in the use of title search software, as well as in the ability to perform basic math calculations
