Job Summary
A nonprofit medical practice and medical research group has a current position open for a Home Based Whole Exome Sequencing Laboratory Genetic Counselor.
Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Case management
- Be involved in test utilization practices
- Act as liaison to external health care providers
Must meet the following requirements for consideration:
- Master of Science or Master of Arts in Genetic Counseling granted by a genetic counseling program accredited by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC)
- Eligible for active candidate status as defined by ABGC or board certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG) or the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC)
- Certification must be attained within 2 years of start date
- Professional knowledge of the rapidly changing principles and practice of medical, clinical, and laboratory genetics
- Must have effective oral and written presentation and communication skills, superior organizational skills and be able to work independently.
- Computer skills appropriate for laboratory and clinical case management
