Inpatient Coding Specialist II

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coding Specialist II (Remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Review medical records to assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and determine appropriate MS-DRG or APR-DRG
• Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Specialists and medical staff to ensure completeness of documentation
• Monitor Discharged Not Billed accounts and ensure timely processing of inpatient accounts through the revenue cycle

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
• Successful completion of the Coder Proficiency Exam (pre-hire)
• Licensure as RHIA, RHIT, or CCS
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding conventions and DRG grouping schemes
