Lead Engineer, Common Voice
Job Summary
A company is looking for a Lead Engineer for the Common Voice project.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Product Director to shape the product roadmap and translate strategic requirements into engineering tasks
- Line-manage and mentor two software engineers while being hands-on with the codebase across various technologies
- Ensure platform security, performance, and accessibility while engaging with the community and leading technical discovery processes
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in full stack web development within a product-centric environment
- Experience in leading technical decision-making and mentoring team members
- Proficiency in HTML/CSS, Node.js, React, Python, MySQL, and TypeScript
- Familiarity with scalable distributed systems and cloud infrastructure, particularly Kubernetes
- A user-centered approach with experience in community participation technologies or open source contributions
