Lead Engineer - Hardware Platform

Job Summary

Owning a core technical system of the camera platform, the full-time Lead Engineer - Hardware Platform will autonomously define and deliver the technical roadmap for automatic capture, device connectivity, and video pipelines while working remotely in the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Define and deliver the technical roadmap for a multi-phase area, resolving cross-group dependencies
• Proactively identify and resolve technical risks, driving urgency during incidents within the domain
• Enhance system operations by building tooling, libraries, and runbooks to address operational pain and tech debt

Required qualifications

• Proven experience owning a production technical system end-to-end and delivering against a multi-month roadmap
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, including state, consistency, and failure modes
• Experience with hardware or IoT, particularly in building software that interacts with physical devices
• Demonstrated operational ownership, including leading production incident responses and ensuring system reliability
• Ability to mentor less-experienced engineers and drive cross-group initiatives effectively
