Job Summary

A company is looking for a Markets and Trade Independent Consultant to support the USAID-funded Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of markets and trade affecting food security
  • Identify and manage market-related data sets and develop tools for data interpretation
  • Produce reports and insights to inform team strategies and engage with external stakeholders

Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience
  • Substantial experience with USAID FEWS NET and data relevant to agroclimatology and acute food insecurity
  • Proven experience in market and trade analysis focusing on acute food security
  • Experience with Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) and related reporting
  • Experience working in a consultative or advisory capacity is preferred but not required
