Job Summary
A company is looking for a Markets and Trade Independent Consultant to support the USAID-funded Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) project.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analyses of markets and trade affecting food security
- Identify and manage market-related data sets and develop tools for data interpretation
- Produce reports and insights to inform team strategies and engage with external stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience
- Substantial experience with USAID FEWS NET and data relevant to agroclimatology and acute food insecurity
- Proven experience in market and trade analysis focusing on acute food security
- Experience with Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) and related reporting
- Experience working in a consultative or advisory capacity is preferred but not required
