Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Summary

To support the design and delivery of an advanced Control Rod Drive (CRD) System for a next-generation nuclear energy project, the contract Mechanical Design Engineer will work remotely to design mechanical systems, develop system documentation, and coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design nuclear and industrial mechanical systems, including requirements development and engineering analyses
• Develop and maintain system architecture and design documentation, such as Design Basis Documents and Interface Control Documents
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage technical interfaces with suppliers

Required Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university
• 6+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience for Level 10 or 10+ years for Level 11
• Demonstrated experience designing complex mechanical systems or pressure vessels
• Strong understanding of configuration management principles and design control processes
• Experience supporting engineering activities under quality programs such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001
