Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting the design and delivery of an advanced Reactor Air Cooling (RAC) System, the contract RAC System Design Engineer (Mechanical) will work remotely to develop mechanical systems, maintain design documentation, and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams over a 12-month period with potential for extension.

Key responsibilities

• Design nuclear and industrial mechanical systems, including requirements development and engineering analyses
• Develop and maintain system architecture and design documentation, such as Design Basis Documents and P&IDs
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage technical interfaces with suppliers

Required qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
• 6+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience for Level 10 or 10+ years for Level 11
• Experience designing complex mechanical systems or pressure vessels
• Strong understanding of configuration management principles and design control processes
• Experience supporting engineering activities under quality programs such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001
