Open-Source Machine Learning Engineer

Job Summary

Passionate about open-source, the full-time Open-Source Machine Learning Engineer will enhance the open-source machine learning ecosystem by improving existing libraries, collaborating with users and contributors, and fostering a vibrant community, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Improve and maintain open-source libraries such as Transformers and Datasets
• Collaborate with researchers, ML practitioners, and data scientists through GitHub and community forums
• Support and engage with the open-source community to encourage contributions and usage of tools

Required qualifications

• Strong Python programming skills with experience in writing clean, maintainable library code
• Deep hands-on experience with modern deep-learning frameworks, particularly PyTorch
• Public track record of open-source contributions, such as merged pull requests to ML libraries
• Solid understanding of modern machine learning and deep learning, including transformer architectures
• Experience collaborating with technical communities in open-source environments
