Job Summary
A company is looking for a Senior Medical Coder (Outpatient).
Key Responsibilities
- Code medical records and documents for inpatient and outpatient services using ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes
- Maintain productivity and quality standards while addressing edits during the coding and abstracting process
- Attend monthly coding meetings and education sessions to stay updated on coding guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or equivalent education and experience
- Minimum of 1 year of inpatient coding experience in specific service lines or 3 years in an acute care academic medical center
- Credentialed as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or COC
- Completion of a CAHIIM approved coding certificate program or HIMT program
- Maintain continuing education requirements as determined by relevant associations
