Job Summary
A company is looking for a Paralegal Specialist V to support the Public Safety Officers' Benefits Office at the Bureau of Justice Assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation, review, and organization of case files for claims under the Public Safety Officers' Benefits Program
- Provide paralegal support for appeals, including drafting and organizing legal documents
- Research and analyze laws and regulations related to PSOB benefits to support claims processing
Required Qualifications
- Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution (legal emphasis preferred)
- At least eight years of paralegal experience, with five years in benefits/claims
- Reliable internet and telephone services for remote work
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
