Job Summary

A health insurance company has an open position for a Remote Ambulatory Observation Medical Coder.

Core Responsibilities of this position include:

• Identifying appropriate assignment of CPT and ICD-10 Codes for outpatient Ambulatory Observation services
• Applying coding knowledge to analyze/correct CCI Edits and Medical Necessity Edits
• Understanding the Medicare Ambulatory Payment Classification codes

Required Skills:

• High School Diploma / GED or higher
• Professional coder certification with credentialing from AHIMA and/or AAPC to be maintained annually
• 3+ years of Outpatient Facility coding experience
• ICD-10 CM experience
• Ability to use a PC in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Excel and EMR systems
• Ability to work any 8-hour shift between 7:00am – 3:30pm
