Job Summary
A source of news and commentary has an open position for a Remote Associate Breaking Reporter.
Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Report breaking news on a range of subjects, from politics to major court cases
- Contribute to live coverage of major events, such as elections, debates and natural disasters
- Pitch ideas for daily news coverage on a wide range of topics
Required Skills:
- Be a talented writer who is hungry to learn, willing to hit the phones and able to pivot from one topic to another
- Fast and precise in breaking news events, while also staying organized as you manage long-term projects
- An expansive and varied news diet and an obsession with breaking news
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- A knack for brainstorming informative, interesting and fun story ideas
- Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and juggle several stories and projects at the same time
