Job Summary

Summary
Breck is seeking an energetic Business Development and Capture Specialist candidate with experience and interest in business development and capture management. This position requires someone eager to learn and collaborate on a variety of different projects for government, commercial, and non-profit clients. This position involves cultivating relationships for business development, researching potential areas of company growth or expansion, and aligning strategic goals. This position also requires someone who is naturally curious, quick to absorb information, and motivated for continuous improvement and learning. The candidate should bring different viewpoints and ideas to projects with an interest in applying learned knowledge and experience to form practical solutions. Self-motivation is vital to working remotely and maintaining a strong work ethic to meet deadlines with little to no oversight.

Essential Responsibilities
Assists in identifying, researching, developing, and acquiring new customers, relationships, and opportunities for revenue growth
Identifies and pursues opportunities to expand, grow, and diversify the company
Analyzes and reports on the needs and prospective areas of collaboration of potential clients and teaming partners
Leads strategic capture efforts including analysis of competition, performance, and potential win rates
Utilizes capture tools to develop and maintain a pipeline of opportunities
Performs research to understand the critical needs of proposal opportunities and develop win themes for individual bids
Conducts market research (including competitors, brand perceptions, and user personas)
Provides support in company marketing efforts, including establishing goals, planning, and oversight
Brainstorms ideas and creates outlines for marketing/business collateral based on research
Represents the company by attending conferences, meetings, and industry events

Required Skills
Outgoing personality with the ability to build quick, strong relationships
Clear, concise writer and thorough researcher
Experience utilizing capture tools, building pipelines, and managing business development activities
Strong interpersonal communicator through in-person, verbal, and written communication
Able to receive and follow through on feedback and direction
Goal-driven, accountable, and able to work within deadlines
Resourceful multi-tasker
Conceptual thinker with strong analytic skills
Strong work ethic
Fluency in Microsoft Office products, especially MS Word

Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree
1-4 years of professional experience

Work Requirements
Remote position, but must be in the Metro DC area (Washington DC, Northern Virginia, Montgomery County, Prince George County, Fairfax County, Alexandria, Arlington County, Prince William County, Loudoun County)
Open to Full-time, part-time, and contract hours
