Job Summary

A healthcare company is searching for a person to fill their position for a Remote Coding Specialist in Gallatin.

Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:

• Classify the patient into the correct MS-DRG, or other payment group
• Code facility records by established guidelines to insure appropriate reimbursement is received
• Verify the accuracy of the data contained within the medical record

Required Skills:

• 2 years experience within an acute care setting with emphasis on required ICD & CPT coding
• High School Diploma or GED - Required with CCS Certification
• Associate’s degree in Health Information Technology - Required with RHIT Certification
• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management - Required with RHIA Certification
• Must have thorough understanding of ICD-10 Official Coding Guidelines for Coding and Reporting and AHA Coding Clinic
• Must have thorough understanding of HCPCS/CPT coding systems and CPT Assistant and Coding Clinic for HCPCS guidelines
• Must have thorough understanding of Medicare Outpatient Prospective Payment System, and Ambulatory Payment Classification
