What You'll be Doing:
Looking for an opportunity to focus on providing evidence-based and clinical guidance to help implement a next-generation comprehensive and supportive medication solution? We're looking for a creative, hands-on, action-oriented clinical expert. You'll be dedicated to helping ensure high levels of quality, affordability, and member and provider satisfaction.
You'll report to a Team Lead. You'll contribute to the success of the customer experience as well as the overall success of the team.
During a Typical Day, You'll:
Serve as a subject matter expert in evidence-based oncology or supporting polies - especially those produced by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) - and help ensure all clinically relevant policies and processes are informed by the best available evidence
Serve as a subject matter expert in specialty pharmacy drugs covered under the medical benefit including but not limited to sodium hyaluronate, inflammatory, intravenous immunoglobulin and multiple sclerosis drugs
Perform use review determinations (approval / denials) in an expedited fashion to meet federally mandated turn-around-times of 24 & 72 hours depending on urgency
Engage and work with treating providers over the phone which will include discussions of evidence-based guidelines, opportunities to close clinical quality/service gaps, and care plan changes that can affect health care expenses
What You Bring to the Role:
Active unrestricted Pharmacy license within your state
At least 2 years of clinical pharmacy experience or experience administering and/or advising on chemotherapy or specialty infusion treatment plans (utilizing/reviewing medical case notes, medication list, lab results)
Or at least 1 year of Specialty Pharmacy experience in clinical practice setting
Experience working with evidence-based medicine related to interpretation of client's drug policy
