Job Summary
A non-profit media company is seeking a Remote Political Reporter.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Pitching, reporting and writing 2-3 commodity/enterprise stories per week (500 – 1,000 words)
- Pitching and participating in regular franchises and series that digs deeper into the important political and policy issues
- Developing articles with a mind on how that work will best reach readers on multiple social media platforms
Qualifications for this position include:
- 3-5 years experience in a newsroom environment, pitching, reporting and writing articles and covering events on a deadline
- Passionate about following national and state politics and major policy battles
- Experienced and enthusiastic about producing social media to accompany reported work
- Able to manage time and multi-task under tight deadlines
- An interest or prior experience in a fast-growth startup environment
