Job Summary

A developer of genetics and biology technology needs applicants for an opening for a Remote Senior Bioinformatics Scientist.

Core Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Designing and prototyping complex genomic data analysis workflows in support of our data solutions products
  • Working closely with software development teams on design and implementation of architecture, workflows, and algorithms
  • Designing and implementing strategies for data normalization and harmonization

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • MSc or PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics, medical informatics, or a related field
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience in tertiary analysis of genetic and genomic data in the fields
  • Familiarity with tools and visualizations such as IGV/UCSC Genome Browser, COSMIC Cancer Browser
  • Demonstrated experience working with secondary analyses pipelines for DNA-seq and RNA-seq
  • Proficiency in two of these programming languages: Python, Java, R, and SQL
  • Familiarity with workflow systems and languages, such as CWL, Airflow, GA4GH WES
