As a Sr. Software Quality Engineer at VirBELA you will be working on a cross-disciplinary team that includes organizational psychologists, corporate leaders, virtual world specialists, and domain experts.
Position Summary
The core responsibilities for this role include evaluating and reducing technical debt, reviewing code changes for quality, and providing guidance to QA testers.
Tasks
Evaluate and reduce technical debt by implementing best practices in software engineering
Mentor other engineers and provide code and process quality guidance to individuals and teams
Review pull requests for quality
Determine the effects of code changes to the end user experience
Work with Software Engineers to define a roadmap and implementation plans for technical debt reduction
Be a quality champion
Contribute ideas and improvements to pipelines, change control, and tools
Document, organize, and maintain new code, helping to grow the company's code base
Inspire colleagues to continuously generate forward-thinking ideas and actively contribute to a culture of innovation and excellence. Help build on our creative legacy and award-winning work

Skills
Fluency in C# and experience with Java and JavaScript
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Expert skills at reading and understanding existing code bases
Security and quality mindset
Requirements
Experience
B.S. in computer science or equivalent work experience
5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer, SDET, Software Engineer or similar role with a focus on quality
2+ years working with Unity3D or similar 3D game engine
Experience creating QA test guidelines for QC operations
Skills in Client/server networking, audio/video streaming and API testing
Working knowledge of interactive media (e.g. display technologies, video, 2D/3D animation, and interactive software)
Experience working collaboratively with cross-disciplinary, art, programming, production and technology teams
Experience working on short-timeline, fast-paced projects
Must be a strong leader and teammate
Must be punctual, reliable, highly flexible, and excellent at balancing multiple detail-oriented projects
