Job Summary
A web development company is searching for a person to fill their position for a Remote Senior Tumblr Data Scientist.
Core Responsibilities of this position include:
- Defining metrics, conduct A/B tests, and oversee statistical measurement of new algorithms and approaches
- Applying data mining and machine learning techniques to improve personalization, recommender systems and content discovery feeds
- Designing and developing effective models, features and algorithms involving user activities and interests, blogs and posts, social graphs, etc
Qualifications for this position include:
- Travel 3-4 weeks per year
- Strong background in statistics, machine learning, mining massive datasets
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field
- At least 2+ years industry experience, with a proven track of successes in solving real-world problems on large scale data
- Hands on experience with data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark and Flink
- Solid experience in software engineering, expert in at least one among the following programming languages: Scala, Java, PHP, Python
