Job Summary
An online education company needs applicants for an opening for a Remote Social Studies Teacher.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Taking ownership for students’ academic progress and attendance
- Preparing students for high stakes standardized tests
- Conducting live synchronous teaching
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Ability to travel on average once per month and/or approximately 10% of the time
- 6 months of student teaching experience
- Meet requirements for Highly Qualified Teacher in subject area under No Child Left Behind
- Appropriate state teaching certification
- Pedagogical knowledge of content being taught and ability to apply critical thinking
- Knowledge of state content standards and ability to align those with the curriculum
