Job Summary

The Opportunity:

To build and scale the world's #1 system for self-improvement. As a VP of Engineering, you'll lead a startup team of world-class engineers to build a GrowthDay product and support its scaling. You'll work closely with our famed CEO and world-class product leads to organize a team of high-performing engineers and product leaders.

What You Will Do In This Role:

Partner with the CTO, Product Leads, and Lead Architect to define technical strategy and the execution of the roadmap to scale a customer-facing, cross-platform app into an international category-defining product.
Get your hands dirty in all the existing code and tools to identify problems and opportunities for immediate infrastructure improvement, security and scalability. The GrowthDay tech stack is built on React Native, React, Java/Spring, AWS, MongoDB.
Grow an in-house engineering team and help attract, retain, and train gifted and passionate engineering talents.
Implement and oversee appropriate Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.
Work in an interdisciplinary manner with peers in other departments to develop company strategy, product strategy, and own the execution.
Help define and align with the Senior Leadership Team around evolving measurement, forecasting, key metrics, and objectives.
Ensure the team has the resources, information, and processes necessary to deliver effective technical and functional solutions to our members.
Apply agile methodologies to improve product development and optimize engineering productivity and processes.
Make the product so sticky and so loved by our customers that the organic scale metrics rival the best apps in history.

Establish engineering plans and systems to optimize teams performance and cohesion.
Monitor and evolve continuous development processes to enhance the team's efficiency and overall satisfaction.
Ensure quality and craftsmanship bar is set, maintained, and managed consistently.
Make the app faster and ready to scale for international expansion.

You Are What We Are Looking For If:

You want to build a category-defining product.
You have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related technical field and/or 10+ years of software development & architecture experience
You understand the state of technology and roadmaps
You have experience acting as a technical lead, and the ability to mentor and lead other software engineers
You love personal growth as much as you love engineering.
You have experience building and operating large-scale systems
You have a broad knowledge of programming languages and software architecture and design and database systems
You have directly managed engineering teams, with an active role in recruiting, and onboarding new engineers
You have a strong understanding of QA processes and methodologies
You are extremely organized, with a firm grasp on your calendar and priorities
