Senior Coding Educator

Job Summary

Serving as a subject matter expert in medical record coding, the full-time remote Senior Coding Educator will provide education and training to clinical providers and staff, design training curricula, conduct audits, and lead projects to enhance clinical documentation quality.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement educational curricula for coding-related processes and initiatives
• Conduct monthly audits and quality reviews to ensure compliance with clinical documentation and coding guidelines
• Lead projects aimed at improving the quality of clinical documentation and final coding for billing purposes

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus six years of health care coding experience, including two years of auditing experience, or equivalent experience
• One of the following certifications: CCS, CPMA, CPC, COC, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA, or CIC
• Expertise in ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
• Experience with automated patient care and coding systems, preferably Cerner products
• Proficiency in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook)
