Senior Data Scientist

Job Summary

Working remotely on a 12-month contract basis, the Senior Data Scientist will design and implement machine learning and NLP solutions for claims and incident mitigation analytics, focusing on transforming business objectives into data-driven insights to optimize decision-making and enhance customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate risk management business requirements into data science solutions, including incident prioritization and claim severity classification
• Profile, clean, and prepare claims and incident data for analytics, modeling, and scoring
• Develop and validate models to rank incidents by likelihood of becoming claims and classify claims by financial impact

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science, statistics, industrial engineering, or a related field; PhD preferred
• 5+ years of experience in data science or operations research (2+ years for candidates with a PhD)
• Expertise in operations research modeling and tools such as CPLEX or Gurobi
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark, and various machine learning frameworks (e.g., Scikit-Learn, Tensorflow)
• Experience developing and deploying solutions in a cloud environment with large datasets
