Job Summary

Leading the design and optimization of the AI Education Hub platform, the full-time Senior Data Scientist will develop an intelligent AI learning assistant and ensure integration with VA systems, directly impacting AI literacy across the Veterans Health Administration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, configuration, and optimization of the VHA AI Education Hub platform for scalable architecture and robust reporting
• Develop and maintain the AI learning assistant and sandbox environment, ensuring compliance with VA AI governance and ethics policies
• Architect integrations between the AI Education Hub and VA learning management systems, ensuring seamless content delivery and learner analytics

Required qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in data science or machine learning in complex environments
• Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
• Prior experience supporting federal agencies or large healthcare organizations with knowledge of federal IT policies
• Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Position of Public Trust clearance
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based analytic platforms, including deployment of ML models and management of synthetic data environments
