Senior Fuel Handling Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely on a contract basis, the Senior Fuel Handling System Design Engineer will design nuclear fuel handling systems, develop analyses for plant design delivery, and provide technical oversight for supplier projects.
Key responsibilities
- Design nuclear fuel handling systems and sub-systems from requirements through final design review
- Develop and integrate analyses such as thermal, seismic, and structural into plant design delivery
- Coordinate with design disciplines to create and manage drawing packages, including P&IDs and 3D models
Required qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical or related discipline from an accredited university
- 5+ years of direct experience with proven mechanical systems skills, particularly in nuclear fuel handling systems
- Experience performing 3D modeling and creating design drawings
- Previous experience with nuclear reactors or similar high-performance systems is required
- Experience working to quality standards such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001
