Senior Instructional Design Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the design and delivery of innovative AI-focused training for the Veterans Health Administration, the full-time Senior Instructional Design Engineer will manage a team of Instructional Designers, ensuring the development of evidence-based learning solutions that enhance AI literacy among healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the senior subject matter expert on Instructional Systems Design projects, providing guidance to internal teams and stakeholders
• Direct the systematic ISD process, including needs assessments and content design, to create effective AI training solutions
• Oversee planning and coordination of training efforts, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with contract performance requirements

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Instructional Systems Design with expertise in large-scale curriculum development
• Doctorate degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education, or a related field
• Prior experience supporting federal agency clients, particularly in healthcare settings
• Ability to obtain a VA Personal Identity Verification credential and pass a VA background investigation
• Proven experience managing and mentoring teams of instructional designers
